The MAFC Listserv is a method of communicating via email for subscribing members. Members send an email to the list email address, and software distributes that email to all subscribers of the list.
The type of emails sent out via the Listserv varies but concerns the Michigan fire service either statewide or regionally. Over the years, there have been job postings, retirement party announcements, and conversations dealing with Michigan issues such as the fireworks training fund.
Moderation of the MAFC Listserv requires the approval of each email or email response before distribution to the subscribers. This moderation allows us to keep an eye out for bots who, from time to time, attempt to send out unsolicited advertisements.
Subscribing to the MAFC Listserve is done via email. Send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org from the email address you want to use to subscribe to the list. In the subject line of your message, type in: subscribe michiefs-l John Doe being sure to insert your first and last name in place of John Doe. Send the email leaving the body of the email blank. Once approved, you will receive an email with additional information.
To send a message using the MAFC Listserv, send your desired email to email@example.com from the email account you used to subscribe to the list. Once approved by a moderator, your email continues to all of the subscribers..
